De Ruijter Chocoladehagel Melk (milk chocolate sprinkles) tastes delicious on your sandwich, cracker or sandwich. Try it with yogurt or as a finishing touch on a cappuccino. De Ruijter has been on almost every breakfast table in the Netherlands. Holidaymakers who have had breakfast in the Netherlands will recognize this. In 1860, the foundation was laid by Cornelis Rutgerus De Ruijter, who started a confectionery shop in Baarn and introduced Muisjes (anise seeds with a layer of sugar). These were so popular that the Dutch royal family appointed De Ruijter as purveyor to the royal household. Since then, De Ruijter has enriched our breakfast table with, among other things, chocolate sprinkles and flakes. For example, the birth of Princess Beatrix in 1938 was the reason to release orange mice and the origin of the Dutch tradition of serving rusks with mice to guests at a birth. We ship to the whole of South Africa. In Cape Town, we service a large part of the Peninsula through partnerships with local couriers. In the rest of the country, we make use of Cloud Logistics, TheCourierGuy, and various other couriers to deliver your products as soon as possible.
Please note that we are based in Bellville, Cape Town, and we do not have branches in other locations.
Parcels in and around Cape Town are normally the next day. South of Muizenberg and Hout Bay are serviced on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while Stellenbosch and the Helderberg area are serviced on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Parcels to the rest of the country and in major areas are normally delivered in 3-4 working days, although parcels to KwaZulu-Natal tend to take up to 4-5 days. Parcels to outlying towns and areas can take even longer, as these towns are normally not serviced every day.
Overnight delivery (only to certain areas) is available at an extra cost. Please contact us directly should this be required.
Days are calculated from when we confirmed the order is ready. All couriers work on a normal 5-day work week, excluding weekends and public holidays.
You are also more than welcome to pick-up your order at The Deli, or to organise a courier to collect it from us. Pick-up can only happen once you have been notified that your order is ready. Pick-ups are Monday to Thursday, 08:00 till 18:00, and Fridays 08:00 till 16:00, excluding weekends and public holidays.
We offer free shipping* on orders over R 1 000 to any destination in South Africa.
* The following destinations might have a surcharge: Chain stores, Power stations, Hospitals, Plots & Farms.
For orders under R 1 000 we do charge shipping.

Rest of SA: R 100 / order
If you would prefer to make use of your own courier services or do a pick-up yourself, please indicate and contact us after you have placed the order. Once your order is ready you will be notified. Your courier needs to pick-up the parcel at 9 Wyoming Street, Stellenridge, Bellville, Western Cape, 7530. Please see above for the normal pick-up times.
